The A/V Department Lead is responsible for supervising the A/V Department Technicians and maintaining, repairing, and quality control
of servers, cameras, switchers, LED tiles, projectors, Com Systems, Wireless Microphone systems, audio consoles and other A/V Gear. This includes inspecting, prepping, maintaining and organizing all equipment per 4Wall quality standards and procedures.

Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities.
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
Personal Responsibilities
- Establish priorities, provide direction, assign tasks, coordinate and support the A/V team to ensure productivity and instill initiative.
- Maintain high-level quality control within the department and implement software updates as needed.
- With the team, successfully execute all pick lists on a timely and consistent basis.
- Check-in and -out orders including scanning equipment barcodes and entering quantity count data in RentalWorks.
- Cleaning and organizing the gear and the work area.
- Test and troubleshoot all A/V equipment functions, this includes camera video equipment, video projectors, switchers, image processors, screens and frames, audio consoles, com systems, wireless microphone systems and other A/V equipment.
- Imaging and maintaining computers
- General repair and maintenance of the equipment.
- Provide technical support and solutions to customers for gear within the department, as needed.
- Work with the sales team to coordinate customer equipment demonstrations.
- Properly conduct and execute inventory counts with Asset Managers of gear within the department.
- Prepare/prep equipment for orders and return equipment back to inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Learn and work in other departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager or Shop Foreman.
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Ensure all team members maintain accountability and the highest level of customer relations.
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with servers, cameras, switchers, LED tiles, projectors, digital com systems, wireless microphone systems, audio consoles and other AV equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and rigging/mounting of video/projection equipment.
- Basic knowledge of projection methods and components (converging, edge blending & video signal formats).
- Ability to execute operational support and technical training for all products within the department, including servers, image processors, cameras, projectors, screens, LED Tiles, Com Packages, Wireless Systems, audio consoles and other A/V Equipment
- Knowledge of how to set up, strike and operate all gear within the A/V department.
- Basic understanding of audio and video over IP protocols and equipment
- Knowledge of how to change signal resolutions and how to take a video signal and properly display on a LED wall.
- Ability to build video racks and the functions of each component.
- Must have the ability for critical visual detections and color balance.
- Must have good troubleshooting and repair skills, speciï¬cally for A/V Equipment
- Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Certiï¬cations that are preferred: Barco E2 Event Masters Certiï¬cation, Barco Certiï¬cation (Projection Specialist and Expert Level) and Reidel Artist/Bolero Com systems.
- Experience in entertainment A/V industry is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to remain clean shaven to wear a respirator and in order to pass the medical clearance for ï¬t test.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks, as well as moving projection equipment.
- Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to guide, lead and coach team members.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be able to effectively comunicate in English.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability:
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
- Must be available and willing to be on call, as necessary.
Position Location and/or Territory and Travel:
- No to minimal travel required.
- This position will not work behind a camera or on editing video content; it does require technicial knowledge on repairs and maintenance on projectors and other A/V equipment.
