Lighting Prep Technician
Location: LondonWe are seeking a Lighting Prep Technician to join our warehouse team and support the preparation, maintenance and organisation of lighting equipment across our UK operation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, keeping equipment in top condition, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and check lighting equipment for upcoming projects in line with operational schedules.
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain lighting fixtures to ensure they meet company safety standards.
- Scan and book equipment to job using the asset management system.
- Pull, organise and stage equipment for jobs within the prep area.
- Check equipment back into the system following job returns, ensuring accurate inventory records.
- Clean, organise and maintain lighting equipment to ensure it remains in excellent working order.
- Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Monitor spare parts and consumables, reporting shortages promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
- Support the wider warehouse team, including assisting with stock takes and general equipment organisation.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles as part of the warehouse team.
About You
- Previous experience working with theatrical or entertainment lighting equipment
- Practical technical skills with the ability to test, troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
- Good manual dexterity and a steady hand for precise work.
- Strong attention to detail and visual acuity when inspecting equipment.
- Comfortable using computer systems and asset management software.
- Clear written and spoken English for communicating and record keeping.
- Organised with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support colleagues across the warehouse.
- Ability and willingness to travel to Blackburn initially, prior to relocation of the warehouse to Hertford.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment and working in an active warehouse environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional to apply their hands-on expertise to support the preparation and maintenance of professional lighting equipment, ensuring it’s always ready to deliver outstanding results for our projects.
Initially, the role will require travel to our Blackburn site while our warehouse relocation is underway. From summer onwards, the position will be based in Hertford. All travel costs associated with this transition will be covered by the company.
