How do I calculate the right viewing distance for an LED wall?
Video Wall FAQ
A common rule of thumb is that the pixel pitch in millimeters roughly equals the minimum comfortable viewing distance in meters. So a 2.5mm pixel pitch screen looks best when viewers are at least 2.5 meters (about 8 feet) away.
That said, this is a starting point, not a hard rule. Your content type matters as much as distance. Static content with fine text and solid color blocks benefits from a finer pitch at any distance, while motion-heavy content (video, dynamic graphics) can look great on a coarser pitch because persistence of vision fills in the gaps between pixels.
