What are LED fixtures and how are they different from conventional fixtures?
Conventional Fixtures and LEDs
LED fixtures use arrays of colored LEDs (typically RGBW, RGBA, or RGBWAL) to produce light and mix color electronically rather than through physical gel filters. This means an LED fixture can change color instantly via DMX control without anyone climbing a ladder to swap a gel.
LED fixtures are more energy-efficient, run cooler, have much longer source life, and offer virtually unlimited color options. The tradeoff historically was that LED sources didn't match the output or beam quality of traditional tungsten or arc sources, but modern LED fixtures have largely closed that gap. Popular LED fixture categories include LED wash lights, LED PARs, LED battens and strip lights, LED uplighters, and LED cyc lights. 4Wall carries a wide selection of LED fixtures for rental.
