What’s the cost tradeoff between different pixel pitches?
Resolution, Screen Size, and Technical Considerations
Finer pixel pitch costs more per square foot because you're packing more LEDs into the same space. But the bigger budget impact is often on the back end: processing, engineering, and content playback. A wall that exceeds 4K total resolution (common when using sub-2mm pitch on large screens) requires more powerful processors and more complex signal distribution than a wall that stays below 4K. This can double your technical production costs while only increasing your visible resolution by a fraction.
The smartest approach is to match pixel pitch to your actual viewing conditions rather than defaulting to the finest pitch available. A 2.5mm wall that stays under 4K can look virtually identical to a 1.9mm wall at typical corporate event viewing distances, but at significantly lower total cost.
